POLYBET - material recovery of mixed plastic waste

Industrial technology for the production of composite products from mixed waste plastics and inert fillers

Groundbreaking innovation of mixed plastic waste and plastic separation rests material recovery and production of products with properties at the level of classicand new materials. The technology originated in response to an unsatisfactory state of waste management where a significant percentage of plastic waste is still landfilled without further material or energy recovery.

PROBLEM 1 - POLYMER BASED WASTE

  • almost undegradable on landfills,
  • a wide range of materials, often combined,
  • contaminated with other materials,
  • incompatibility of the different processability of different types of polymers,
  • conventional recycling technologies require pure single polymer wastes of known composition of sufficient quality

PROBLEM 2 – SPECIFIC INERT WASTE

  • specific glass – photovoltaic panels, automotive
  • building waste recyclates
  • different types of slag – steel works, incineration plants etc.
  • no way of recyclation – only landfilling in different ways

SOLUTION ?

INPUT MATERIALS

  • BINDERS – PP, EPP, PE, PET, ABS, PA and its mixtures
  • FILLERS - sand, stone (0-8 mm), glass, agglomeration waste from steel works, slags, construction and demolition waste.

OUTPUT

  • Solid composite filler/binder – filling ratio 0-70 % formable with pressing, casting or rolling; colorable
  • Physical properties better than concrete
  • Fire resistance – ČSN EN 13501 – B1-s1
